[VIDEO] New Civic Type R is far from perfect in new review image
CarBuyer has found the new generation of the Honda Civic Type R to be not so perfect as expected.
Do you have your eyes on the brand new Honda Civic Type R? Well, if so, you should better check out the competition too, like the Renaultsport Megane, the Volkswagen Golf GTI or the Ford Focus ST, amongst others. But if you’re not that convinced in which vehicle you should add to your garage, than the review posted below might answer some of your questions.
The new generation of the Honda Civic Type R is the newest addition to the compact hot hatch segment. The model has made its debut a few months back, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and it can be easily distinguished thanks to its aggressive body kit. The range-topping version of the Civic is coming with the four-wheel adaptive damper system, with the retuned steering, advanced dual axis strut front suspension, 350 mm drilled discs at the front with four-piston calipers signed by Brembo and two trim levels with five exterior color choices. The most important part of the model is found under its hood where the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is resting. The unit is capable of putting down a total of 310 HP (228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration takes 5.7 seconds and top speed stands at 270 km/h (167 mph).
