Project 2&4 concept
A new concept car, it’s called Project 2&4 and as the name suggests, it’s a combination of the brand’s 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled divisions.
With a car chassis it’s powered by a motorcycle engine. Scratch that. It’s not just powered by any motorcycle engine, but the motor out of the RC213V. That bike uses a 999 cc V-4 developed for MotoGP racing and then tuned for road use. It makes 215 hp and 13,000 rpm, while full torque of 87 lb-ft comes on at 10,500 rpm. Power makes it to the ground via a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Frankfurt Motor Show Preview
Focused entirely around the engine, Honda bills itself as the world’s leader in engine manufacturing, making 28 million engines a year.
With an open-air experience, just like that of a motorcycle, Honda says it was designed to deliver, “an ever-more immersive driving experience.”
Look for the 2&4 concept to make its public debut next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
