Redesigned Honda Civic Coupe gets higher base price
Honda has announced pricing and launch details for the redesigned Civic Coupe.
Arriving for the 2016 model year, the next-generation two-door variant starts at $19,885 (including $835 freight) with a six-speed manual transmission and 158-horsepower 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine. The MSRP represents an increase of $760 compared to the least expensive 2015 package.
Most buyers will opt for a CVT, which brings the price up to $20,685. A new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine powers the EX trim levels and above, fetching $23,135, while the range-topping Touring edition commands $26,960.
The turbo mill brings increased performance, with 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. It also delivers a slightly higher city/highway/combined fuel efficiency of 31/41/35 mpg.
The coupe is built upon an entirely new architecture with a focus on sporty styling inside and out. The cabin is more spacious than the outgoing model, with higher quality materials and new technologies.
US buyers will be able to purchase the 2016 Civic Coupe starting March 15.
