You could say that Honda is definitely on a hot streak in the automotive industry. Unfortunately, not the same can be said about their current Formula One racer.
It is after all a new dawn for Honda in motorsports, as they renewed their partnership with McLaren, hoping to recapture the form they had back in the 90s.
As with all new ventures, the start has been..not so good. And that’s putting it mildly. After two races in the 2015 F1 season, they’ve yet to score any points and their only finish was Jenson Button coming in 11th at the Australian Grand Prix.
Still, McLaren-Honda and their drivers are confident that they are on the right track with the car and despite both cars not crossing the finish line in Sepang, they still thought the car looked better compared to Melbourne.
In terms of aesthetics, McLaren has always had good looking F1 cars and the MP4-30 is no exception – although it wouldn’t crack our top 3 of best-looking McLarens. In fact we’d say it’s a 3-way tie between the 2004, 2005 and 1998 McLaren-Mercedes.
The only difference that we can see between this MP4-30 that they brought to NY and the car they showed in their initial press release in late January is the addition of ‘Esso’ as a sponsor and making ‘Hilton’ more visible on the side of the rear wing.
If they’ll start seeing results on the track, they’ll probably attract a main sponsor as well, further improving the looks of the car.
