New Honda sports car planned, could debut in L.A. image
The Japanese based automaker Honda is planning on introducing yet another sports car as rumor has it that this will be unveiled at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, at the end of the year.
After officially pulling the wraps off the successor of the iconic NSX, which has maintained its name, and then showing the S660, with a higher-performance version named the S1000 aimed towards the Old Continent, time has come for the company to plan yet another sports car. This is currently known as the “baby NSX” and as its nickname suggests, it will slot below the larger NSX and just above the S660 and S1000. According to the guys from Motoring, the model in question will be riding on a platform almost identical to the one used on the NSX.
Our source is saying that the exterior design is almost complete and we should expect an engine lineup which will include a turbocharged 2.0 liter hybrid, along with a larger twin turbo V6. The model will be using the SH-AWD system along with the all-wheel steering. Its direct rivals are not known at this point but don’t act too surprised if you will see it positioned along with the Alfa Romeo 4C and the Porsche Boxster, amongst others. Rumor has it that the new “baby NSX” will be officially presented to the public at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. Additional details on it are limited at this time.
