The Japanese based automaker Honda has introduced the brand new Shuttle on its local market.

The 2016 Honda Shuttle is now available for order at dealerships across Japan. The model in question has been launched and it has a starting price of 1,690,000 yen, or the equivalent of 14,100 USD. According to the car manufacturer, the compact vehicle is being offered with a large tailgate opening with low ground height, making loading and unloading luggage easier, with a flat floor, with two multi-use baskets on the backside of the rear seats which can be used independently and are easily accessible from the rear seats, the flat folding rear seats, a storage box made from stain-resistant plastic material under the luggage space floor which can be used to store dirty items and several other goodies.

The new Honda Shuttle has a five-seat configuration and it is offered with a luggage capacity of 570 liters. With the rear seats folded down, the capacity will increase to 1,141 liters and the luggage space is expended as far as 1,840 mm. As far as the engine lineup goes, the car has a 1.5 liter direct injected DOHC i-VTEC gasoline burner, producing a total output of 130 HP and connected to a CVT, or a hybrid variant with the Sport Hybrid i-DCD system. A 1.5 liter Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTEC gasoline is also available, with its electric motor integrated in the 7-speed DCT transmission and the battery pack. This is producing a total of 135 HP.
