There’s something brewing over at Honda. With the introduction of a sportier-looking Civic, and the announcement of a U.S.-bound Type-R, Honda might have gotten its mojo back. But we’ll wait to see what Project 2&4 is before we say anything for sure.
From the vague teaser, we don’t really have any clue what this thing could look like. There’s a Honda badge, some red striping, and something that looks like a reflector. What you’re actually looking at here is the top of the car. It’s all very confusing.
But it’s in the technical details that give us a better idea of what it could be. Under the hood is an the 999c V-4 engine from Honda’s RC213V, which is basically a street-legal MotoGP bike. There’s also a “cabin-less” structure on top of that. Honda also says that it combines “the freedom of a motorcycle and the maneuverability of a car.”
Through some nifty detective work on our end, we have concluded that these features suggest a Honda track-toy that rivals the likes of Caterham and Ariel. That’s pretty damn exciting, if you ask us.
We won’t know anything for sure until the concept makes its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Stay tuned.
