Honda UK Prices Go Up Across Entire Range

Honda UK has announced a 2,3% average price spike for its entire car range, coming into effect on December 1, for the HR-V, and from January 4, for the Civic 5d and Tourer, CR-V and Jazz.

The Japanese manufacturer wanted to stress the fact that the UK market has changed substantially in the past 24 months and that since January 2014, prices haven’t gone up for Honda products as they have for their rivals – with one competitor increasing prices by 3% in the last 12 months alone.

On average, a 2.3% increase shouldn’t deter any customers from purchasing some of the UK’s most popular Honda models, like the Jazz, Civic and of course the CR-V.

According to Philip Crossman, Honda UK Managing Director, the Japanese company wanted to “ensure industry price competitiveness.” “To achieve this we have undertaken a comprehensive review of our product pricing over the last three years to understand where Honda sits in comparison to our main competitors and have determined that we need to raise prices accordingly,” argued the Honda exec.

Prices for the SE and EX-spec Jazz will rise by 2.3% while the entry-level version will cost as much as it does now, specifically £13,495. The Civic hatchback and Tourer versions will also feature a similar price hike (2.3%), which is understandable considering how the Civic hasn’t gotten any more expensive since January 2014. On top of that, the facelifted model even saw a price decrease of up to £1,500 across the range. Now, however, the 1.4 S i-VTEC entry-level version will cost £16,470.

The popular CR-V already experienced a slight price bump at the start of 2015 when the facelifted version arrived, yet will still cost more by an average of 1.9% starting with January 2016. The cost for a 2.0 S i-VTEC 2WD model will be £22,770.

As for the smaller HR-V, its prices will rise by 4.4% on average, which means that in order to buy a 1.5 i-VTEC S model, you’ll have to spend at least £18,495.
