Honda has confirmed that it will unveil the coupe version of its 10th generation Civic compact at next week’s Los Angeles auto show. Honda unveiled its latest Civic Sedan earlier this year.
Honda hasn’t released any images of the 2016 Civic Coupe, but the two-door is largely expected to mirror the styling of the Civic Coupe Concept that bowed earlier this year at the New York auto show. That show car used the same basic styling blueprint as the Civic Sedan, but added sportier cues like a more aggressive front fascia and wrap-around taillights.
Like its Sedan counterpart, the Civic Coupe is expected to arrive with a pair of engine choices — a naturally-aspirated 2.0L and a turbocharged 1.5L. Both CVT and manual gearboxes will be on offer.
Further down the road the Civic Coupe is a strong candidate for Honda’s Si treatment, but the automaker isn’t discussing that model at this time.
Honda has not announced when the 2016 Civic Coupe will go on sale, but the 2016 Civic Sedan is scheduled to go on sale nationwide on November 12.
