Honda has announced pricing information for its all-new Civic Hatchback. The most cargo-friendly version of the 10th generation Civic is scheduled to land in Honda showrooms next Monday.
Pricing for the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback kicks off with the LX 6MT model, which carries a base price of $19,700. That makes the Civic Hatchback LX 6MT $1,060 more than the entry-level Civic Sedan, but it should be noted that the Hatchback comes standard with a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. In order to get that mill in the Sedan you’ll have to shell out $22,200 for the EX-T model. Adding a CVT to the LX bumps the hatch’s price to $20,500.
The Sport trim is the next rung up with a starting price of $21,300 for the manual and $22,100 for the Sport CVT. Sport is the highest Civic Hatchback model offered with a six-speed manual transmission.
The Civic Hatchback EX will carry a base price of $22,800 while the EX-L Navi will carry an MSRP of $25,300. The Sport Touring trim will cap the Civic Hatchback range, but Honda has not released pricing information for that model.
Although all version of the Civic Hatchback ship standard with Honda’s latest turbo-four, there are a few different tunes for the engine. Sport and Sport Touring models are rated at 180 horsepower while all other trim levels are rated at 174 horsepower. Peak horsepower is a little more accessible in the manual cars, with max power coming in at 5,500rpm vs. 6,000rpm for the CVT.
Opting for a manual in the LX trim level nets 167 lb-ft or torque at 1,800rpm while CVT versions of the base engine are rated at 162 lb-ft of torque at 1,700rpm. The Sport 6MT is good for 177 lb-ft of torque at 1,900rpm while Sport CVT and Sport Touring models are rated at 162 lb-ft of torque at 1,700rpm.
Most versions of the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will be available for purchase next Monday. Honda says the Civic Hatchback Sport Touring will go on sale before the end of the year.
