Honda Jets Apparently Make Great Christmas Gifts For The 1 Percent

Honda has jetted into another niche transportation market

A mysterious big shot is the recipient of a brand new HondaJet. Yes, the Japanese automaker now builds planes. Actually, Honda Aircraft Company technically makes them. Anyway, it’s been classified as a business light jet, spanning 42’7″ feet long and with a wingspan of 39’9″ inches, and is powered by two turbofan engines. The engines were a collaborative effort between Honda and General Electric. With over 2,000 pounds of thrust it has a top speed of 483 mph, making it the fastest vehicle Honda has produced.

The HondaJet HA-420 will be available in North and South America and parts of Europe via the HondaJet Dealer network. The jet’s world headquarters is located in Greensboro, North Carolina. That’s where pilots are trained to fly the jet, and where it is manufactured. There are no details as to who the owner is, but suffice it to say he or she is probably elated at the prospect of having the first Honda-powered jet ever produced. Hopefully this will be the first in a long line of successful aircraft from the Japanese automaker.
