Honda Crosstour to be phased out

Honda has announced plans to drop the Crosstour at the end of the 2015 model year.

Originally unveiled in the fall of 2009, the Crosstour was designed combine the best attributes of a crossover, sedan and wagon.  Unfortunately, styling wasn’t high on the priorities list as Honda was met with a flood of negative remarks which led them to compare the first pictures of the model to a “bad yearbook photo or something.”

The controversy eventually died down but sales were less than stellar.  As a result, Honda has announced the model will be phased out because the “crossover segment has evolved” and they believe the 2016 HR-V will “create new value for crossover shoppers and play a more significant role as a gateway model for the Honda brand to drive light truck sales growth.”
