The United Kingdom, a crucial market for the Japanese automaker in Europe, has received another treat – two brand new special series for the popular Civic compact and CR-V crossover.
With crossovers in high demand all around the world, we’ll start with the CR-V Black Edition which comes packing a glossed out black radiator grille and sports 19-inch alloy wheels also bestowed with a black glazing. This special series has also been adorned with running boards and gloss black skid plates. The upscale design changes continue as you enter the cabin and find leather seats with contrasting stitching, Black Edition logos and premium floor mats with Black Edition badging. Sitting neatly tucked under the hood there are two engine choices: first off we have the 1.6-liter diesel churning out 160 horsepower and the larger 2.0-liter i-VTEC gasoline mill comes with 155 horsepower. Both can be mated to a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission and they can also get a more practical all-wheel drive system.
Second on the roster today is the Civic Limited Edition that has received more body-colored components and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels for a “slightly more aggressive, sporty look,” according to Honda. These credentials are not supported by the powertrain, which comes packing the 1.4-liter i-VTEC engine developing just 100 horsepower and linked exclusively to a manual transmission. Availability starts early next month for both and the Civic special series will start from £14,995, with the CR-V Black Edition going for at least £29,995.
