The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) has named the 2016 Honda Civic and the 2016 Mazda CX-3 the Canadian car and truck/utility vehicle of the year.
The Civic beat out two finalists which were both Volkswagens, the Golf R and Golf SportWagen, to earn the top prize. The CX-3 managed to get the edge over the Volvo XC90 and the Kia Sportage.
To choose the winners, AJAC gathers over 70 journalists each fall to test drive every new vehicle back-to-back and then score them. The process generates 106,405 data points, which are offered to the public as a resource for new car buying.
