Honda Accord phased out from UK market due to slow sales

Honda has announced plans to eliminate the Accord mid-size sedan from UK market.

With only 518 units sold last year, it shouldn’t come as a surprise Honda UK has decided to pull the plug on the Accord which won’t be getting a replacement, at least not in the near future. The news of Accord’s demise from United Kingdom comes after two similar announcements as the Insight and CR-Z have been previously phased out. It is believed the Accord could actually be retired from all markets and Australia is expected to be the next on the list to make the announcement.

Honda UK mentions they are now “focusing on what the customer wants, which is the C-segment, crossover and SUV market.” The Accord competed in a shrinking segment on the European market where there are some big names such as the Volkswagen Passat, Ford Mondeo, Opel/Vauxhall Insignia and the Skoda Superb.
