Honda Accord, CR-V recalled due to faulty airbag inflator

Honda has announced that it will be carrying out a preventive replacement of the passenger-side airbag inflator in the 2004 CR-V and the 2003-2007 Accord.

Honda will be replacing the inflators of 575 units of the CR-V manufactured in 2004 and 10,805 units of Accord manufactured from year 2003-2007, and one 2004 Civic as part of a global recall scheme to replace the unit for free. Although no incidents or malfunctions have been reported in the country, Honda thinks the step is required.

The recall will occur in a phase starting from June 4, 2015. All customers can check if they will be a part of the recall by submitting their car’s VIN number on a microsite on Honda’s website. Honda has said that it will also contact customers directly during this period.
