Hond shows hedgehog-inspired ‘Sonic Civic‘ for Comic-Con

Honda has teamed with SEGA to build a one-off ‘Sonic Civic’ show car to celebrate the game Sonic the Hedgehog.

The heavily customized Civic Coupe features unique wheels and tires, evoking Sonic’s iconic red shoes and the gold rings that must be collected throughout the game. A full vinyl wrap delivers an unmistakable connection to the game, matching the Sonic Blue exterior paint and Sonic Yellow accents.

Naturally, the interior boasts Sonic the Hedgehog-theme seats with Katzkin Blue Leather. Designers also chose to fill the trunk with a Rockford Fosgate audio-visual system, integrating two 10-inch subwoofers, dual 500-watt amplifiers, and a 32-inch flip-up television connected to a video game console.

SEGA is celebrating the game’s 25th anniversary at a special event in San Diego, coinciding with the Comic-Con gathering.

“What better way to showcase the incredibly sporty performance capability of the 10th generation Civic than by pairing it with gaming industry’s ultimate athlete – Sonic the Hedgehog,” said Honda PR manager James Jenkins.
