Acura showcases teaser for the upcoming Precision Concept image

The Acura Precision Concept will be used to preview the house’s design styling choices in the near future and the first teaser image has been released for the prototype expected to make its official public debut during NAIAS 2016.

The North American International Auto Show is the first major automotive show of the year (though that might change in the future as the CES gains weight on the automotive scene) and as such all automakers are rushing in for a piece of the cake. Scheduled to make its appearance on January 12th, the Precision Concept was penned by the Acura Design Studio in California and will “help set the direction for future Acura design, in particular, the next-generation of performance luxury sedans.” No further details have perspired but as we can all see from the teaser pic we’re to expect a sleek sedan with a lengthy bonnet, stylish headlights, and a slender windscreen. We also see long front and back overhangs, a dynamic roof, and pronounced character lines. The fenders also appear to be flared and the taillights might be very angular.

“The Acura Precision Concept will signal the stronger and sharper focus of Acura styling on our core DNA we call ‘precision crated performance.’ It is our intention to more strongly express performance through design and the Acura Precision Concept will serve as the inspiration for the styling and proportion of the next-generation of Acura vehicles, especially for our sedans,” said Dave Marek, Acura’s Global Creative Director. The concept could be used to preview the next-generation ILX, TLX, and RLX with a more dynamic design.
