Honda on Monday released a teaser sketch for a redesigned Odyssey that the automaker plans to unveil next month at the 2017 Detroit auto show.
The redesigned Odyssey will arrive in showrooms as a 2018 model, replacing the current model which has been on sale since 2011. It represents the fifth generation of the North American market Odyssey.
The teaser suggests that the latest Odyssey will feature a sporty design complete with a roof-mounted rear spoiler. The roof itself will also adopt the popular “floating” design where part of the pillar furthest to the rear is blacked out.
Honda says buyers can look forward to new powertrains and advanced connectivity, infotainment and safety features. Look for Honda to utilize the 3.5-liter V-6 and 9-speed auto combo offered in its latest Pilot SUV. A hybrid option is also a strong possibility. The current Odyssey is offered exclusively with a 3.5-liter V-6 good for 248 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque.
We’ll have all the details soon as the Detroit auto show gets underway January 9, 2017. For more from the show, head to our dedicated hub.
