Acura has announced that 2017 Acura NSX VIN 001 rolled off the company’s assembly line in Marysville, Ohio, Tuesday, making it the first serialized production model in existence.
The NSX was delivered to customer Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group. Hendrick won the car in a charity auction that will see $1.2 million distributed to two children’s charities–the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground.
He was allowed to drive the commemorative NSX right off the assembly line, showing off its unique wheels wheels, carbon ceramic brake rotors and exclusive interior and exterior upgrades.
“Today marks the realization of a big dream here at the PMC and the culmination of more than 30 years of manufacturing experience and expertise here in Ohio,” said Clement D’Souza, engineering large project leader for the Acura NSX.
