2016 Honda New Cars
Details of the new and updated Honda models launching in Australia in 2016.
Honda Civic – mid-2016
Honda’s all-new Civic sedan, previewed with a muscly concept in mid-2015 and unveiled in production form in September, should make its way to Australia in mid-2016.
The new model brings a larger and more coupe-like design to the Civic line, while also introducing a new evolution of Honda’s wing-like grille and headlight styling.
As with the previous generation, a five-door hatch version of the new Civic is also confirmed.
Powertrains locked in for overseas markets include 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engines, but Australian details are still to be confirmed.
The new Civic has also been revealed in two-door form, but as with previous generations of the Civic Coupe, this one won’t be coming to Australia.
And, while the current Civic Type-R hot hatch has now been ruled out for Australia, the hotted-up Type R version of the new Civic is a likely starter.

Honda NSX – late 2016
The long-awaited new Honda NSX made its official debut in 2015, after years of speculation, concepts both stillborn and production-bound, and a long teaser train that stretched through much of 2014.
Honda revealed the first official production details in April, and while a North American market launch was expected to occur in late 2015, production delays have seen that postponed until early 2016.
Honda Australia claims that will make little difference to Australia, however, with a local debut still expected to occur later in the year.
Exact pricing for Australia-bound models is still to be confirmed, but a figure north of $200,000 is anticipated.
